What is Dermaroller ?

  Genuine Dermaroller Therapy is only available from trained medical practitioners and authorised clinics.  Sterile, single-use medical devices are used to micro-needle the skin.  This stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally.  Dermaroller can significantly improve the appearance of:

Acne scars

Aged and sun damaged skin

Facial and décolleté lines and wrinkles

Stretch marks

 How is the treatment carried out?

   The Dermaroller is a medical device that creates thousands of microscopic needle holes in the skin.  Each needle will penetrate the dermis and will be 0.1mm in width.  The hole will close rapidly enabling the skin to recover quickly—often in the same day.

   A topical anaesthetic is applied to numb the skin in order to make the procedure comfortable.  This takes up to 30 minutes to work and the actual Dermaroller treatment then takes 20 to 30 minutes.

   For best results, a course of 3 treatments are recommended with approximately 6 weeks between them.  For acne scars or other types of scarring, up to 5 treatments may be required.

What should I expect immediately after the treatment?

Immediately after the treatment you will look as if you have moderate sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual.  This will start to subside after one or two hours and will normally recover within the same day with only slight redness the following day.

If you will be in daylight after the therapy, you should apply a suitable high factor sunscreen—which we can provide.

What will be happening to my skin after treatment?

After the treatment, your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis.  This takes time as new collagen and elastin is formed, new skin cells are generated and  blood supply is enhanced.  It can take up to 6 weeks before the full effects or regeneration and repair can be seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a gradual and long lasting enhancement.
